DO YOU KNOW ANYONE IN NEED?
The St Vincent de Paul Society, also known as the SVP, for short, has existed internationally for 190 years and exists solely to provide practical help to people in need.
Our volunteers who live locally, are not social workers and have no affiliation with any public organisation. They visit people in their homes to provide a CONFIDENTIAL listening ear, advice and practical help for people who don’t know where to turn to when help elsewhere isn’t forthcoming.
Face to face visits can help someone get “something off their chest” that they feel they can’t share with anyone else or assist those who are isolated, ill, in debt, unemployed, struggling to make ends meet, recently out of prison, marginalised, disenfranchised, in crisis or just simply lonely.
